New partnership enables students and dance enthusiasts of all ages to make global connections through the joy of movement.

This spring, EduMotion is teaming up with Movement Exchange to expand both organizations’ efforts to create global connections through the joy of movement and dance.  While EduMotion works with K-12 schools to provide a Social Emotional Learning program that integrates cultural learning through dance, Movement Exchange provides adult dance enthusiasts — primarily university students — with opportunities to use their passion for dance to become civically engaged members of their local and global communities.

Through this partnership, the two organizations will collaborate on virtual dance exchanges between K-12 students served by each organization.  In addition, they will jointly offer a “Global Dancer” membership program that includes 24/7 online access to EduMotion’s growing library of cultural learning and dance lessons and discounts to Movement Exchange events throughout the year.

Here’s a preview of the new Global Dancers membership program:

EduMotion’s K-12 education partners will automatically  receive the additional Movement Exchange benefits with their existing educator licenses. This new offering provides a way for non-educators to engage with the dance and cultural learning content offered on the platform, while bringing both educators and non-educators together through special discounts and access to Movement Exchange workshops and events.

“EduMotion has been providing K-12 students with dance experiences aimed at building community and promoting cultural understanding for nearly two decades,” says EduMotion Founder Margot Toppen. “Through this partnership, we are excited to develop deeper connections across continents and more directly engage adult dance enthusiasts.”

“Movement Exchange is thrilled to begin this ‘Global Dancer’ partnership with EduMotion as it will enable more globally-minded dancers to join our community of dance diplomats,” says Dana Vanderburgh, Executive Director at Movement Exchange. “We look forward to sharing our incredible network of global dance artists through this program and welcoming more dancers to our virtual and in-person programming as we seek to continue moving to change.”

More About Movement Exchange: Movement Exchange unites dance and service through its network of university chapters, international dance exchanges, sustainable dance education programs in underserved communities in the US & Panama, and virtual dance opportunities. MoveEx is a growing community of dance diplomats—movers and shakers, activists and global citizens, dreamers and achievers, teachers and learners, volunteers and friends. Movement Exchange believes that when we move the world, we move to change.
